s/o Blind or Blind & Deaf parents - life hacks

Are there any other blind parents out there? My DH is blind and deaf if he isn't wearing hearing aids. (My vision and hearing are normal.)

We've got a 3 yo DD, and back when she was born discovered that there was a bigger learning curve for him than we expected. Don't know if that's the case for others too, but now that we've got a bit of experience under our belts - go ahead and ask us anything that might make your own experience a bit smoother! (And if you've been there done that, I'd love to compare notes about what worked for you too.)

I am totally blind. We have a soon to be minted seven year old and another baby on the way. I'm home with our oldest and plan to be home with our second as well. The learning curve you describe may be due to the blindness (I don't know squat about deafness) or it may be that he's just a guy. If you would like we can email and I'll see if I can help. One thing that won't work are visual techniques, he'll need to have nonvisual methods.
