Do you submit WPPSI scores to schools when they are optional?

Anonymous
We are only applying to K at a handful of schools next year and had our 4 yr. old take the WPPSI to keep our options open (at least one school in the mix requires it). Two questions (sorry for my ignorance, but I'm just dipping my toe in the water): (1) When people refer to their kids WPPSI percentiles which percentile are they referring to? The Full Scale IQ? (2) Do most people with high WPPSI scores send them to schools that deem them optional (e.g., WIS, Concord Hill)?

Thanks for any advice.

(1) FSIQ
(2) Can't say what most people do, but it seems reasonable that one would submit a high WPPSI score to validate or strengthen other parts of the application

We sent one to WIS

I plan to submit the scores, in one case so the school knows what they'd deal with if they admitted DC. ie, Want to ensure good fit

I think it is tacky and obvious. If they wanted them, they would ask for them. They don't, so respect the wishes of the school. It is clear that parents who do this are trying too hard...

I think OP asked about submitting to schools where the test is optional, not schools that clearly don't want the scores.

Or it is doing all you can to get your child the best. A parent who tries hard is not frowned upon by schools. We sent the WPPSI to WIS where it is not required and our child was accepted.

I disagree with #1. People are referring to the percentage, not the full scale IQ. An average IQ is 100, so all those 99% people would be merely average. An IQ of 120 or so puts you in the low 90s percentage-wise.

Last year, I asked the AD's at 2 such schools if they'd like to have the scores. One said that it couldn't hurt to send them. The other (WES) asked what the scores were. I told her (98%), and the AD said to go ahead and send the scores in because it would help. Maybe DC would have been admitted without them anyway, but it certainly didn't hurt.

Perhaps it depends on the tester. Our DC's FSIQ was presented as a standard score (e.g., 100), percentile (e.g., 90%), and range (e.g., high average).
