in need of Chinese take-out recommendations - Silver Spring / Tak Pk

Anonymous
Recently moved to SS / Takoma Park and have yet to find Chinese take-out that really hits the spots. I know people rave about dim sum at Oriental East, but I ate dinner there once and wasn't impressed with the standard menu (not bad, just not anything to write home about). Any hidden gems? TIA!

There are some good places in Wheaton namely Hollywood East. However I'm a huge oriental east fan dim sum and regular so take my recommendation with a grain of salt. Have you been to mark's kitchen in aroma park? Lots of Asian inspired dishes.

There's also Paul Kee and Good Fortune in Wheaton. All 3 offer mainly Hong Kong style Chinese food. If you like that style, then it's good, if you don't like that style, say, a northern Shanghai style, then it's not good.
There's a reason why these 3 restaurants have been there for over 20 years!

I lived in TP and we ordered from Spring Garden and Thai Silver Spring--both delivered to us. Spring Garden isnt the best Chinese in the world but much better than the places on NH Ave that deliver.
