Blood test levels 7 days after IUI

Anonymous
It has been a while since I have done an IUI and I forgot all about the process.

I did an IUI and then went in for a blood test a week later. The test came back at 235 (can you believe I forgot even what test this is!?). I asked if that was good or bad and she said it was not really conclusive (then why do they do this?).

I asked what the result was for the same test a week after I did the IUI after which I became pregnant (and carried to full term) and she said that was 935, but that does not mean it did not work this time.

Can anyone shed any light on what this test was and what the results mean? I used to know all these things and when I got pregnant I forgot everything!

Usually, the blood test you do 7 days after ovulation is the progesterone level test to verify that you did indeed ovulate and that you have enough progesterone to support pregnancy. However, your numbers seem really high for progesterone so maybe it's something else, I don't know.

What they normally test 7dpo is progesterone (p4), but that range is usually 10-100. I'm guessing by those numbers, that they were testing estrogen (e2), as that is often much higher (100-1000). Although it's odd that they would do that one by itself.
