We are expected to get 1-2 inches an hour, at it's heaviest, during rush hour with the total snow fall being close to five inches.
Also, how many of us got a call from the district this morning? I didn't. I'm glad I checked website because I figured that they were going to stay home like everyone else. |
Generally, PGCPS makes the call about closures or delays about 5 a.m. the morning of school. As far as I know, they've never used robocalls to alert to system wide closures or delays, but they do post the alerts to the PGCPS website, Twitter feed, and Facebook page, and you can sign up for text message and/or email alerts at http://www1.pgcps.org/weather/. Last option is wait for the Maryland school closing list on the radio or TV, or call the PGCPS weatherline, 301-952-6000; option 1. |
They have always called on the past. Once at 4am |
Maybe it varies by school; in the five years I've had a child in PGCPS, I can't remember a system-wide closure accompanied by a call out. After the earthquake when DD's school was closed for two days longer than other schools, that time they did call. |
The county has pretty much always given county wide calls for closures. I've also signed up for texts too and I didn't receive on either weather day. |
