Money is no object here. I need a dressy pair of black trousers, preferably slim fit, and well tailored. Any chic maternity clothing line recommendations are also welcome. Thanks! |
have you tried pea in a pod? |
Also Isabella Oliver |
Liz Lange, hands down. I bought a $400 pair of black pants that I wore every other day for four months. It was worth it!
She has a wonderful boutique on Madison Avenue. The saleswomen are amazing and can tell you your exact size by just looking at you. http://nymag.com/listings/stores/liz-lange-maternity/ Like a lot of designers, she also makes clothes for Target now - but I wouldn't recommend them. I hated both the fabrics and the fit. |
Try the website bellydance maternity. They have lots of designer brands. For pants, I must say I haven't found any that fit me as well as mimi, but it all depends on your build. |
i have 2 pairs from motherhood maternity that i live in. seriously. |
I got a pair at Ann Taylor maternity over in Tyson's Corner mall. You need to try them on first (then can order online) because their sizing is weird. I ended up buying a pair that were 2 sizes smaller than my pre-preg size (even from reg Ann Taylor clothes), but they fit great and looked really nice. I think they were $80. |
OP here. THANK YOU THANK YOU for all your suggestions! I am sure I will find the perfect pair. |
Try Appleseed in Old Town...I got a great pair of Olian pants that I wear constantly for around $100 |
i got an amazing pair at gap online for like $60. they were definitely my best fitting maternity pants and they looked great! |
I lucked into a pair of wool gabardine pants at Mimi Maternity of all places. THey have the full belly band, but they were soooo comfortable, and they looked like real people pants, not crappy maternity. I think they were $100. Not the best quality (I wore them about 4 months and by the end they pilled up a bit), but I figured I wouldnt be wearing them for long...and given how often I wore them, it was worth it. |
has anyone found any other than poly/viscose? i am looking for a nice wool blend pair of trousers, and for some reason, all maternity clothes seem to be some synthetic polyester blend fabric... ![]() |
Liz Lange (her real line, not her Target line). |
I second the Gap pants. I lived in mine near the end. In fact, I never looked so good in pants. |
