I'm about 4 weeks past transfer and am having the worst cramping in my uterus and ovary area. Is there anything that can be done? Any recommendations?
Sounds like possibly a case ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome. Weigh yourself, drink lots of water and check in with your doctor. If it is severe, one can gain up to 10 lbs in a day. I suggested weighing yourself now so your doctor will want to monitor that.
op here-- is it possible to have that so late? I'm about 6 weeks pregnant now. Not sure if I am about to miscarry...
It is normal for your uterus to grow & stretch, thus causing a cramping feeling. On a scale of 1 (a little) -10 (a lot), how much pain are you really in? If you are doubled over in pain, seek help.

OP, I'd call your nurse if the cramping is severe. I do think cramping is pretty common, so most likely it is nothing. If the cramping is accompanied by bleeding, then you might want to go in for an early ultrasound. Otherwise, maybe just keep your nurse/RE aware of what's happening.
FWIW I totally feel your pain. I'm the OP of the post about likely miscarriage. Turns out I haven't miscarried, but am definitely off to a very rocky start. Here's hoping for the best for all of us! |
Yes, I've been off to a rocky start as well- with light spotting and cramping. My pain was about a 5 or 6 yesterday, with a ton of bloating too.
I am 9 weeks pregnant currently, and during weeks 4-6 I had lots of cramping. Occasionally it was quite strong. It was almost exactly like period cramps, except instead of the waves getting worse and worse, they'd eventually subside. It is very normal. If you are cramping and bleeding, that is not good. You can call and ask your doctor, but if it's bad you can always take a tylenol or 2. Good luck, hang in there.
OP here- I finally broke down and took a Tylenol last night. Today it is a bit better. I have no idea what is going on because between the cramping, light spotting (nothing too worrisome) and lower than normal betas, I am not sure if i will miscarry soon or just have a very abnormal pregnancy.
