Using input from these forums, Dr. Kevin Maxwell, Chief Executive Officer of Prince George’s County Public Schools, will propose a set of improvements to be considered for adoption by the Board of Education. Prior to a vote by the Board, formal public hearings will be held to obtain additional public input on the CEO’s specific recommended improvements. The following items will be discussed: Boundaries for the New Hyattsville Area Elementary SchoolSending 6th grade students to middle schoolEstablishment and Expansion of Theme and Specialty Programs An overview of each discussion item will be presented by PGCPS officials, followed by a structured opportunity for public input. -30-About PGCPS: Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS), one of the nation's 25 largest school districts, has 204 schools, approximately 125,000 students and nearly 18,000 employees.
