Do you give your contractor a holiday gift if they are working in December?

I would think not but wondering what others do.

How about some cookies. Or some festive bottles of Champagne for the new year.

Is this someone who does a lot of work for you? If so, then sure, go ahead and tip. If it's someone just doing a one time job, then it's not expected.

Hell no. Are they giving you anything for free?

Depends on the contractor. I know alot of contractors that go out of their ways to treat their regular clients quite well. Obviously, not an asshole like you though. Hey, what's the chance you are a lawyer or in finance ?

If you love the work they do, something along these lines is fine.

Wine is always good in my opinion!!!

Get them a gift card to Home Depot - guys like tools - doesn't have to be alot - they can treat themselves to one nice new hand tool or as someone else suggested some home baked cookies to bring home.
