I'm pregnant with number 3. I have two boys now and had no morning sickness with either pregnancy. This current pregnancy I had bad morning sickness during my first trimester. Just wondering if maybe could be a girl? Anyone experience this or just an old wives' tale?

sorry, i've heard the same thing, but pretty sure it's an old wives tale. my sister had bad morning sickness and had a girl. I had absolutely no morning sickness, ever... and had a girl. ![]() good luck, though - sounds like you'd enjoy a girl after those boys! |
I'm in the same boat OP. Two boys with mild pregnancies and this third one is kicking my butt. I'm sick ALL THE TIME! I'll find out in a couple of weeks what it is but at this point I don't care - I just want to feel better! |
OP here: I'm happy with either gender. But, this third time has just drained me. I'm also completely wiped out by around 2pm! |
I had two children of different genders, and my pregnancies were identical. I'd say you have a 50-50 chance! |
I have two boys too and would like a girl. I had fantastic skin while pregnant with my boys, but this time around - yikes is my skin a disaster zone. I keep telling myself it is due to the extra estrogen from a girl. Wishful thinking, I know, but it helps my mood whenever another zit pops up. |
I think wishful thinking PP! I had beautiful skin when I was pg with my DD. Although almost everyone I know who had morning sickness, did have a girl (myself included)!

Still pregnant with my first and had hideous awful morning sickness - but it's a boy! A good friend just had a boy and she was also really sick during the first trimester. |
Probably an old wives' tale, but if it gives you hope, OP, our first was a boy with no morning sickness, and our second was a girl with morning sickness. |
I had no sickness with my first pregnancy and was so sick I lost 20 pounds in my first trimester with my second pregnancy. Both are boys. |
I totally understand that after two of the same gender, you want the third to be different. Just keep in mind that what really matters is that the baby and you are healthy ![]() I have a girl and I had a perfect pregnancy with no severe morning sickness when I was expecting her. I am now pregnant with another girl, and during the first three months, I had AWFUL morning sickness. In my case, both pregnancies were different and I am having the same gender. All I pray for is a healthy baby. Good luck! |
OP here: Praying and wishing for a healthy baby is always a given. And I don't really have a preference either way on gender, I just wanted to know if people experienced something similar to me and how the gender played out. What it seems like is that it is a complete roll of the dice! I'm excited and looking forward to finding out soon! Thanks for sharing. |
I heard the opposite from my mom that boys make for more uncomfortable pregnancies and girls are easy. I'm having a girl and did not throw up at all during my first trimester. Hope you have a happy and healthly baby whatever gender they are. |
I had much worse morning sickness with my second (girl) then with my first (boy). I was sick before I missed my period.... |
Two hideous pregnancies - both girls. I have four sisters and the morning sickness=girls played out with all of them. |
