I got my first one today. if I went into detail it would give them away. We love to laugh at them and share them with our family. Thanks for over sharing.

SIL stopped sending these when her DH dumped her for his "soul mate" at work.
Merry Christmas! |
| Facebook has nipped in the bud most of the ones I used to get. Now those people brag all year. |
For the most part these don't bother me, but sometimes if the writing is especially bad I just feel a little bad for them sending it to so many people, esp when it's 2+ pages long and tiny font. I have a friend who always says something along the lines of "it's been another busy year, sit down and have a cup of tea while I tell you about it." Strikes me kind of odd, but I love my friend anyway.

That's really depressing. |
| My MIL and FIL still send out ridiculous Christmas letters with pictures and phony bragging. They leave out the reality like, this year we are disappointed in our son in law who cheated on our daughter, they may stay together for the kids though. They don't even tell us what they are going to write about us or our kids. It's all such BS. |
At least you get mentioned. My dad (his wife, actually) hasn't mentioned my existence in 25 years, except when it makes them look good. But their kids (and dogs, for that matter) get pages. |

Yeah but what they wrote about DH and me last year wasn't even true because I guess we're not that interesting. My in-laws are so phony and all about appearances and the holiday card and letter really brings it out. They don't even tell us what they are going to say or what pictures they are sending out. Probably because I would tell them not to lie or send a picture of me. I'm too damn old to have my picture in my in-laws holiday card. |
| I did mine and talked about travel in Asia we did this year and a few highlights about each family member.. I don't think of it as bragging; in fact I think older relatives enjoy reading about that and looking at the pictures. But really I keep them year after year. They are a nice sweet record of our lives. I love looking back at the ones my mom did of us when we were young. |

I love reading Christmas letters. Others should feel free to ignore them! |
You are a bad friend. You know that, right? |
| I LOVE Christmas letters. Dh and I always read them aloud and giggle but we are horribly cynical people. |
