| St Albans alum, a punter at Cornell is named All Ivy "Rookie of the Year". Now that's a scholar-athlete. |
| Good for him! |
| Thanks for the posting Mom! |
|
Yes... Lots of student athletes from our area at Cornell.
Boys Latin Wootton Urbana Good counsel Also have football players at cornell. |
He's a great kid. I had not heard he got Rookie of the Year -- just Googled him and he also got First Team All-Ivy. I don't care if it was his mom posting (joking, I'm sure it wasn't), that's great. Along the same lines of of DC independent school athletes making good, I was watching a Villanova basketball game the other day and the Sidwell '13 alum, Josh Hart, looked fantastic. Also fun seeing the DeMatha grads playing in the Iron Bowl. Cheers. |
| There are Damatha brothers playing for Alabama. One was going to go to Auburn but decided to go to Alabama with his brother. That would have been interesting. |
| OP, not a STA/Cornell mom but I will look for Hart during the next Villanova game and the other local players. |
| I to was watching the 'Nova games, but first to see Kansas, and then when they beat them, to see if they could follow up with a win over Iowa. A very impressive effort by two locals, Hart and Jenkins. |

Awesome. Nice to see a position reserved for non-athletes win MVP in the least athletic conference in Div. I.
Sorry, Why does anyone care? This is almost as bad as the lacrosse thread. |
You cared enough to click, didn't you? |
I just clicked on this thread and was thinking it was really nice. Then I read this last comment. PP, you are a complete asswipe. Unless you received your undergrad degree from an Ivy AND had a career in the NBA, NFL, or NHL, you should really crawl back under your nasty little rock. |
+10,000. There's a nasty on every thread. It's sickening. |
There must be a magnet on this site for jealous folks. I can promise you that Cornell kid's mom did not post the news about her son. He was also an outstanding WR and DB at STA. I am willing to bet he could help out at either of those spots on the Cornell team. This kid is legit and will have a good chance to play on Sundays. I would love to see him end up with the Redskins. BTW, his name is Chris Fraser. Remember that name. |
| There are a lot of kids from this area (public and private schools...girls + boys) recruited to DI elite college programs. I think it's great. Was curious why someone just posted about the STA kid and not the others. |
Because sports at STA is not that good, so somebody is trying to show it is good. There were over 100 kids from this area playing college football last week. My kids love to see a local kid when we are watching sports. It's awesome. It is not easy to play sports and have good grades. It is a huge committment. |
