Owe nanny share family an explanation?

Anonymous
Our son is at risk for autism and developmental delay due to a genetic disorder. At 13 months, he is beginning to show warning signs - failure to respond to his name, make consistent eye contact, use communicative gestures, etc. We have discussed his special needs with our wonderful nanny, but have not mentioned anything to the parents of the other boy who is in the nanny share with us. Do we owe them an explanation? If you think so, what do you think we should say? Thanks for your insight!

don't say anything just yet. If you get a diagnosis or if he exhibits symptoms that could be harmful to the other kid (my son was very aggressive for a short period of time, I had to shield him from crowds) then you should say something. I am curious can you tell me what genetic disorder this is? Is it Fragile X? We have an autistic son and have an appointment with a geneticist but that won't be for a little while longer.

Our son has tuberous sclerosis (TS), a genetic mutation that allows benign tumors to grow in several different organs, most notably the brain. Usually, people find out they have TS when they start having seizures. Hopefully, your son will not be in that boat. Best of luck, and thank you for your response.
