I'm 38 weeks and it feels like my little one is moving/twisting turning more than ever...at times, my entire belly sways from side to side with "lumps" (knees? elbows?) bulging out everywhere. It hurts!
He has been head down since 28 weeks, but I am scared that he is trying to turn breech again. Are there high odds of this happening, or is he just swaying to and fro? I am still feeling hiccups down low, but I wish he would settle down and get comfy instead of summersaulting all over the place this late in the game! |
moving alot is normal and you feel so much because there isnt much space in there. Although it is not likely that the baby moves to breech position at this point I have to tell you that ANYTHING is possible. I have heard it all. Good luck to you! Hang in there - not much longer to go. The last 2 weeks were always the hardest physically - it is really uncomfortable. |
Absolutely - I remember my daughter taking an entire half-hour to completely reposition herself - to my great discomfort! |
I'm not OP, but as a follow-up question:
When is typically determined if your baby is "breech" and they want to schedule a c-sec? I didn't think much of this with baby #1, but I'm now 30wks with baby #2 and it feels like he is still flip-flopping into different postions at this point. |
I had a breech baby and the likelihood of turning at 38 weeks is low, but it happens for sure. Around 36 weeks is when my dr said, the baby is breech. Let's get a C on the schedule and see what happens. I opted NOT to turn the baby manually, but tried other things. Nothing worked. |
Yes - mine did.
He was transverse at 34 weeks, head down at 36 weeks, transverse AGAIN at 38 weeks but flipped head down again at 39 weeks and was born a few days later. :0) For what it's worth, after I learned at 38 weeks he was transverse I was so desperate to not have a c-section I went swimming every day in an attempt to flip him (and also because I was so uncomfortable - it made me feel so much better). Maybe this did the trick! |
Hi, my babe turned breech at 38 weeks and stayed that way. So much for the natural drug-free birth I'd planned for! |
Yes. It can happen at 38 weeks and even later. |
