Thanksgiving appetizer suggestions?

Anonymous
I asked my SIL if we wanted me to bring a side dish for tomorrow, and she asked me to bring an appetizer. My family doesn't usually do appetizers on Thanksgiving, so here I am the day before and I'm still thinking about what to do.

I don't want to bring anything that has to be heated up, since I'm assuming her oven will be packed. I figure it should be something light. I was thinking maybe veggies and a special dip? Anyone have a special dip recipe? Or thoughts in another direction?

sliced summer sausage, cheese ball, and crackers, best if all from Hickory Farms.

I'm doing this recipe for butternut squash soup:

I'm also doing deviled eggs because everyone loves them.

Yea, strange combo.

We are having veggies and dip (nothing special, just a favorite from the grocery store), cream cheese/jalapeno jelly with crackers and an old-fashioned relish tray (variety of pickles and olives). Easy to put out, something for everyone, not too filling.

I've done some cheese straws that went over well and were pretty simple. I'm sure there are recipes online, but basically you put down a piece of puff pastry, layer on some cheese and herbs, put the other sheet of puff pastry down, cut sticks with a pizza cutter, twist the sticks, and bake.

Super easy spinach dip... a family favorite, pleases rednecks and snobs alike (our family is a mix!)

1 block of cream cheese
1 cup of parm
1 cup of romano
1/2 block frozen spinach
1 pack knorr vegetable seasoning

mix together and bake for 45 min at 400 degrees...sprinkle cheese of choice on top about 6 min before taking out of oven.

Whole Foods carries some very pretty red seedless grapes that they call Holiday grapes because they're large. On a tray, I'd put some grape clusters with a cheese ball and crackers or cheese straws and small squares of cheese. Also apple slices but cut too soon.

Here are my apps for tomorrow:

Jalapeño popper dip (easy, but requires heating)
Olive assortment
Trader Joe's quinoa and black bean tortilla chips and chunky guacamole
Fancy cheeses and cracker assortment from trader Joe's. I have a blue cheese, the creamy Toscano, and a mozzarella/prosciutto roll.

Asparagus (approx 4" spear) wrapped in crescent dough.
"healthier" pigs in a blanket.

Prosciutto wrapped around melon.

This is ridiculously easy but always disappears quickly. And the taste combination is a little different for Thanksgiving.

We're doing a cheese plate: several different kinds of cheese, grapes, thinly-sliced apple, baguette & crackers. Also some olives. Kids will have the option of cheddar bunny crackers.

This is exactly the parade of vulgarity I hoped would unfold when I clicked on this thread.

Thank you, America!
