| Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! |
| I would want a drop in center that would be able to take my child every day that I needed the service. I also would like a drop in service to be equipped to take my sick child when I can't stay home to take care of her. |
Isn't that the definition of drop in care? |
| I have to say that the idea of leaving my child with sick kids would make me avoid what might otherwise be a great option. I know a regular daycare can have a sick child, but knowing kids are likely there *because* they are sick would be a turnoff. Somehow insuring that sick kids were separated from healthy kids would be good, if it could be pulled off. |
| I would appreciate if you would not bring in sick kids as I would not want my child sick. Sick kids should stay at home. |
| I would want the staff to be very well qualified. I would want the director to be approachable and professional. I would want the space to be very inviting to my child. |
Yes it is. BH has special drop in centers that take sick children. I love it! |
How do they take care of the sick kids? Is it run like a typical daycare with lots of activities, or do the kids get to rightfully lie on a couch and watch TV while eating soup all day? |
It is just a low key situation. The children rest and the providers just care for them. I really don't know what I would do without them. I do not have time to stay home with a sick child. |
Just curious - are you a parent? |
| Yes, I am a parent |
|
How do they keep the kids from infecting each other?
How does your sick kid react to being dropped off at a new place? Mine would wig out |

I use the BH in home backup care program when my children are sick. They send a caregiver and I work from home. The caregiver handles making soup, reading books, finding the remote. I get to give hugs and kisses when they are awake and i still get to work.
For drop in daycare, I really liked Adventure Kids Playcare. I mostly have daycare during the day covered but I sure would like an evening/weekend option. |
| Are there really daycare centers for sick kids? WHat a nightmare! Dropping off your sick kid with a weakened immune system to pick up germs from other sick kids? That is nuts. |
| I find the BH backup center near me invaluable, but wouldn't use it if they allowed sick kids. |
