| My wife and I love to have oysters together and enjoy a surreal scenario of people watching as we do so, whether it Alexandria or the Harbor, does anyone have any good recommendations around NOVA, DC, or MD? |
| There's a moules frites place on the main drag in Bethesda and those people are pretty surreal. As in, completely self-absorbed surreal. |
OP: The Mussel Bar and Grille? I've passed it, but never went in - so it's good?! |
| Hank's Oyster Bar in Dupont Circle (also with locaitons in Alexandria, I think)? Not sure if it meets your people watching criteria but the food is great and there's a big bar where you can certainly watch people come and go. |
| johnny's half shell near cap hill - great outdoor seating |
|
I don't think anything in DC approaches the strict criteria for "surreal" other than the government (local and federal). |
I don't think this scene is what you're looking for, OP. |
| Old Ebbit. You might see some movers and shakers if you are into the political scene. |
|
Who do you want to look at? Hipsters? Then try Pearl Dive Oyster Bar on 14th Street.
|
| OP here, nothing imparticular we are looking for - just a nice setting with lots of people wither walking in or by. I remember a looong time ago some place in D.C. on the water down in Georgetown if I recall... |
What exactly does "surreal" mean to you? |
You really think "imparticular" is a word, don't you? |
| J.Paul's in Georgetown. A buddy of mine and I actually lucked out once and got the window seat in the bar, hard to come by. |
| Pearl Dive on 14th St. On a nice day, the front windows are open and you can even sit outside if you want. (Not patio seating--outdoor barstools for the indoor/window bar.) |
| Sea Catch in Georgetown |
