Has anyone tried this? How was it?
I have done a turkey breast in the slow cooker. Or are you talking about a whole turkey? I don't know if one would fit in there? Unless it's very, very small?
(11:10 back. If it does fit, then it should work fine. I have done whole roasting chickens in there and they turn out beautifully. Two notes, though: it does not finish off with that brown crispy skin you are used to when roasting in the oven. So, if you really want that, you'd have to put it in the oven at the end for just a few mins. It'll prob be so moist it all falls apart, though, so that may be a little tough. But not a deal breaker. One final note, again, since it's so moist and tends to fall apart, there's not a great "presentation" but, like I said, it IS very moist and delicious!)

If you're a family that doesn't present the perfectly browned turkey on a platter on the table, the tenderness and flavor of the turkey slices are wonderful!
If you're not going to present it anyway, you may as well cut it before it goes in the cooker. You want it to reach a safe internal temperature during the first two hours of cooking. (This is why the "chicken in a slow cooker" recipe in the slow cooker manual invariably has some sort of food safety disclaimer).
For Thanksgiving, it sounds awful. Things in the slow cooker tend to turn into stew. Turkey stew may be great on other occasions. But not this week.
When I cook a chicken in a slow cooker, it usually falls apart as I take it out. It tastes great..but is not very great to look at.
