Do you know if there anything like DCUM in the Los Angeles or Santa Monica (Westside) area?

Hi Jeff,

I figure you might know. We will be moving there in a few years. When we had to quickly move here, DCUM helped me identify what area I should check out to live, and what schools might be good (or wouldn't be good) for our kids. So was thinking that an LA-based site could help our transition back.

(And I know this is not "website feedback"--for that, I apologize--but I think it's the best and possibly only way to get you to see my post).

I don't know about anything like DCUM. We actually have a lot of users from LA. So, you might be able to get answers by posting in Off-Topic.

I once saw a newspaper article about some sort of mailing list that was for parents. It had a really hardcore moderator and, apparently, her choice to allow or not allow posts about area businesses was sort of a make or break for them. I don't remember any other details, however.
