if one of you said, "this marriage is beyond repair"....

....if it got that bad, did your marriage survive in the end? And if so, are you glad?

Yes. Yes.

If you have a marriage that has endured, you would have had to face innumerable ups and downs. And during these ups and downs (either thrust upon you or of your own making), one or both of you will say this very thing. Why? Because none of us signed up for anything except love and happiness. Then life happens. So, some of us bitch a lot more and since we cannot take our frustration out on anyone else, our spouses are cast in the role of villains and vamps.

If you can ride this storm out, things become better. And when they are better, that is the time to work on making your marriage even better and stronger. When things are good - evaluate where work is required. Work together on making your communication, your health, skills, hobbies, finances, relationship better. Work on your sex life, fulfill each other. Why? Because the next bad storm will happen soon enough- and you want to face it with some real great skills and strengths in your marriage.

I am glad that we endured and that we were able to rekindle the feelings of our courtship period. Except it is 10X better.
