How is there not a thread about that lunatic dad who screamed at the Loudon school board?

Uh I doubt the school board is hating this. I’m no fan and yet he managed to look worse. Their silence makes them look much more mature and rational.

Disagree. They looked awful. He did not look bad at all. He schooled them.

Is this how you and and him prefer your kids to be "schooled" too?

You don't need an educational system to do it. Just teacher kids to yell on top of their lungs to bring their point across.

The squeaky wheel does, sometimes, get the grease. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Could he maybe try to squeak more coherently? Meltdowns don’t help comprehension.

I think we all comprehended his message.

+1 and the fact so that so man are so indifferent to his despair is the problem.

We aren’t “indifferent to his despair.” Do you respond positively to your kids when they scream and tantrum? No. Would you respond positively to a spouse screaming at you like this, no.

We've been asking calmly for 11 months. It hasn't worked.

You are asking for something you won’t get and his hysteria did not get you it either.

Go yell at people spreading the virus.

Indifferent? No one is indifferent.

I’m disgusted by his sense of entitlement to go in and verbally abuse other people.

This isn’t ok for a 12 year old to do. And certainly not for an adult.

Grow the F up and show some respect for others. You don’t get to scream your way through life.

Really, you comprehend that a trash collector is the same as a teacher?

Teacher here . Let’s not do that. I am no better than a trash collector. (Nor are you for that matter.) We both work and provide a valuable service to society. One takes education and one doesn’t but one isn’t inherently better than the other. We don’t have to stoop to his level.

I’m not talking down to trash collectors FFS, it’s a good job.

But they are outside and they work with 2 people.
Teachers are inside and around 100’s of people.

No teacher would have had 100's of students a day under the hybrid plan. Heck all the naysayers of hybrid are complaining that some secondary classes will only have 1-2 students in them! Elementary will have 10 students max per day, spaced and masked. Your hyperbole doesn't help your argument any more than his helps his argument.

I turned off once he started yelling. I’d tune out if I were there. I did not hear any arguments from him. Yes, I know why he’s upset but I know it before he approached the mic. Hearing him scream made me lose any empathy I had for his situation. In fact, I’d be happy if he and his brood never left the house - who in their right mind would want to share space with him, be it a classroom or a road.

Please don't pretent you ever had empathy for his and our situation.

I have empathy for people who feel badly about the Covid situation.

I don’t have empathy for temper tantrums, blaming, false equivalencies, etc.

Trythfulky I see a mss as n like this who just can’t parent his kids and blames others.

We are paying taxes to educate our children. I wasn’t aware that “parenting” also includes becoming an ES teacher. I am not capable of teaching, I suck at it. I try my best, but it’s clearly not enough for my kids.

His behavior was verbally abusive and he didn't even make good arguments. Made a fool of himself.

His delivery method was rude and immature. That doesn't make his underlying point wrong.

Yet because of his behavior, we are talking about return to school a lot more than we were before him!

That’s the thing, schools aren’t spreading the virus.

Actually we are getting it. March 3 at the latest.

I don’t think his objective was to go in and politely request to return to in person school. He is clearly struggling, like thousands of other parents out there. He needs help and no one cares. They are laughing at him.

School board and admin are not even pretending to care.

Everyone is freaking struggling. Everyone. That doesn’t give someone the right to throw a temper tantrum because he’s not getting what he wants. Should doctors start screaming at patients who’ve contracted COVID? You all would lose your collective minds if that was on video. There were several parents who were much more persuasive in their testimonies who should be getting national recognition for their stories.

For all those insulting him, his message, and his delivery...I think this is a case study in "The lady doth protest too much, methinks".

I love him!
