I'm not threatened. I think she's an amusing train wreck.

In fact, she's like Chrissy Teigen. I think those two dingbats had a little Twitter dialogue going on at one point.

Ocasio-Cortez makes $174,000 annually with her congressional salary and has used the funds to move into the posh Navy Yard neighborhood in Washington D.C. that, ironically, is also a favorite of President Donald Trump's staffers.

My mother was a socialist when I was growing up and lived at home. She still is. She painted a picture of socialism that sounded good. I definitely was a lefty in college. Extreme.

But stuff like this is why I cannot take socialism seriously. The minute AOC gets to DC, it’s luxury for her.

If she truly was a working class champion, she’d live somewhere less expensive and donate or help the poor and downtrodden.

That’s supposed to be the difference between people like her and the rich baddies. But it seems all people want is to feed voters a line, get in office, and then, good times.

Wait a sec. I thought AOC said she was capping all salaries on her senior staff at $80k so she can redistribute the excess to entry-level staffers. Did she mean she was asking everyone earning $100k or more to sacrifice for the lower-earning.....except her??

Sooooooo tyoical. Other people's money.

She’s embarrassing.

A grifter of the highest order.

She admitted on a recent live stream she no longer lives in the fully paid off Bronx apartment she inherited from her late dad. She said she moved to a new building because she needed more space (two bedroom). She sounded defensive that media uncovered she no longer lived in the inherited Bronx apartment.

Yes, that's how it works.

not her money . . . b/c we're paying her salaries

Those with experience will not be compensated for their skill set. They will have to shift monies around to increase the bottom wage to $50K+.

And people say Republicans are obsessed with AOC. Maybe it could actually be that the Democrats are bent on making her into an enormous media star.

Oh my God. You are such idiots. Her salary is her salary, and her office budget is her office budget. It's two entirely different things or "pots of money," and every Rep or Senator gets a budget for staff. And all of those budgets are other people's money, dums dums.

Her staff didn't have to accept the terms of her job offer. If they want to make more, they can go elsewhere.

Yep. This is why Orwell's "Animal Farm" is a classic. I am a DC resident--have never understood why the Obamas, Clintons etc. don't send their kids to school with "the people" or live with "the people". Last one to do so was Jimmy Carter (school). There are lots and lots of places to live in DC--she could do the "English basement" experience so many of us did coming up, or live in a "transitional" neighborhood in a less than luxury flat like so many teachers and first responders. Hard to take her seriously, for sure.

Oh come on! Why does she have to live in an English Basement? To prove something to you? She makes almost $200K. Please. Renting for $2k - $3k per month is more than reasonable and doesn't exceed 20% of her income (far less if her boyfriend or a roommate lives with her). If she was buying a 1 million house in McLean I'd raise and eyebrow...but it'd still be none of my business. Nor is it yours. And don't tell me that at almost 30 you'd live in an English Basement on a six figure salary. My. God.

So you're comparing an intelligent woman, who you may disagree with but she is intelligent, who is a sitting member of congress . . . to a model?
That says more about you, sweetie. None of it good.

Totally agree. We need more dignified politicians like Donald Trump who bring honor and respect to their offices.

A cashier at Whole Foods was shot in the face there this past fall.

Do you live here? H St and Navy Yard are 2 completely different neighborhoods.

says that I don't think she's any smarter than Chrissy . . .

And many agree with me. Likes attract likes.

Don't "sweetie me," by the way. I'm not your little child.
