Yes, the school is loaded in the NBC4 article and they called the police who are investigating.

They haven't actually acknowledged that it happened yet. They are no doubt waiting for an investigation. From the article.......

"We take seriously the emotional and physical well-being of all our students, and have a zero-tolerance policy for any kind of bullying or abuse," he said in a statement.

The sixth-grade girl at a private Virginia school who accused three classmates last week of forcibly cutting her hair now says the allegations were false, according to statements from the girl’s family and the principal at Immanuel Christian School in Springfield. School officials met with the girl and her family Monday morning before releasing the statement.

The 12-year-old, who is African American, said three white boy students held her down in a school playground a week ago during recess, covered her mouth, called her insulting names and used scissors to cut her hair.

The grandparents of the girl, who are her legal guardians, released an apology Monday.

“To those young boys and their parents, we sincerely apologize for the pain and anxiety these allegations have caused,” the grandparents wrote in a statement sent to The Washington Post by the school. “To the administrators and families of Immanuel Christian School, we are sorry for the damage this incident has done to trust within the school family and the undue scorn it has brought to the school. To the broader community, who rallied in such passionate support for our daughter, we apologize for betraying your trust.”

This is terrible. This 12 year old kid probably cut off her own hair and then when confronted she made up an evil story. She needs mental health help. She may be a cutter. Shame on the grandparents for turning this into a circus. I was suspicious by the use of “nappy” because white people don’t usually say it. The girl probably just wanted to change schools. There is no way to apologize to the boys. Thank goodness they were not publicly identified.

And, all the national news sites that did a story on this (I know of NBC and CBS) should do a follow up story and give it the same amount of airtime as they did the fake story.
This is abominable. And, once again, most did not use the word, "allegedly." They stated this happened as if it were fact.

I'm the 'assault" poster. I think this kid needs to apologize, and get counseling, and a new school
