WJ/BCC Fight - No racism please!

I have not read the whole thread...but the video shows that this was illegal behavior.

To see a many punching and kicking a young woman crumbled in a ball on the ground was beyond horrible. That guy should be in jail AND expelled from his school permanently. No "discipline," prosecution.

What scary humans. Get them out of the street and away from our children.

It was a fight, fights are not illegal, hence there were no charges.

It's clear that it was both BCC and WJ kids who were fighting.

It's also clear that WJ parents need to wake the f up and realize they are not raising perfect kids. They are raising kids that fight, that go towards danger instead of away, who lie to you, and have you report it to the police when you are part of the problem.

Talk to your boys because this fighting BS get worse in college and you can fall, hit your head and die... or you can hit somebody they can fall and hit their head and that is manslaughter (not murder because you chose to fight).

The investigation is ongoing means, bring me more evidence and things will change. It's only been 1 week, it usually takes longer to close a case that has this many witnesses.

But the reality is if you fight and end up with injuries, this is not a criminal case it's a civil one. Now the kids on the ground and anybody else that has bodily harm can get a lawyer and sue for bodily harm just like a car accident.

If this was the summer there wouldn't even be suspensions.

Are you going to stop posting this when there are charges?

What's actual news, in that it hasn't been stated before, is that charges ARE pending. Any credible news outlet would report this new information. Instead of stoking antipolice feelings

the criminal investigation is ongoing.

I don’t know how many times someone has to tell you “it was a fight!!” is not a defense against assault charges.

No because assault charges can result from fights depending on the situation. There can be assault charges during a fight if you agree to fight 1 person and 10 jump you, if someone tries to retreat and are chased, if video shows up and there was a weapon, etc.

Are you going to stop posting this ridiculous narrative that poor innocent WJ kids were just getting Chipotle when masked BCC students jumped them unexpectedly?

Come on WJ parents wake the f up.

Come on man!

I never said it was, I just said that it was a fight that may lead to assault charges instead of a bunch of BCC kids laying in wait who assaulted poor innocent WJ kids.

Get your kids in order. They are the problem.

Sorry, buddy. Everything I've heard from students and seen with my own eyes says that BCC students planned to jump WJ students when they csme onto BCC "turf" for a game.
Assaulted them.
Battered them.
Caused bodily harm that required hospitalization.
Brought masks in some cases.
Robbed them.
Threatened one with a gun.

You need to wake up.

1. This had nothing to do with school rivalries: At least one of the worst cases involved a BCC kid beating up another BCC kid (a cheerleader, actually!) -- entirely unprovoked.

The only thing this had to do with football or rivalries, it seems, is that a group of kids heard stories of past years' fights and came to downtown Bethesda to get in on the action. I haven't seen anyone who was at the football game suggest that this was a case where things got heated at the game and spilled over into the streets: These were not kids who came for football; these were kids who came to fight.

2. Here is the solution: Parents from both schools engage community members, alumni, and members of the community to plan Friday night events, in coordination with police, in which supervising adults fan out (haha) throughout the downtown area after the game, eyes on Chipotle, eyes on the metro. Make it a fundraiser or use the occasion to raise awareness of this or that issue. The idea is to do what makes Bethesda boring the vast majority of the time: Have adults out and about and don't allow kids to congregate in numbers.

Or, just, like have police do it?

LIke, it sounds like they did a fine job at the actual game. I'm pretty surprised that they weren't already keeping a watchful eye on Chipotle, which is precisely where kids have been fighting in the past. Betcha they don't make that mistake again...!

They should require one parent to be responsible for their own kids during games. Not just drop off the kids without parental supervision.

How about the BCC principal and central office do their job and get the violent thugs out of our children's schools the first time they're on their radar. Then our kids can go to Chipotle with their friends after a game. How does that sound?
