| Where do you usually shop for clothes and shoes? I am SAHM and as i hit 35 i am thinking of changing my style and fashion taste. Where should I go to shop? |

| This is hard to answer because we don't know your style or budget. I basically shop at the same stores I have shopped for the last 20 years. The only time I changed stores was when I started making more money, and could "upgrade". Shop where you want, and buy what makes you happy. |

| White House black market has really nice pieces that you can mix and match. Plus the employees will take their time and make sure the clothing actually fits properly . |

J Crew and BR, mostly. Kinda sad. I try to stick with silk blouses, nice sweaters, fitted striped tees and wool pants for work. I can't get away with the polyester blouses from Express anymore.
I try to buy one-off younger pieces at Nordstrom or online. |

Sorry, I just realized you are probably looking for more casual clothes. The same stores carry pretty decent casual pieces. |

I find it has more to do with the age of your kids than your own age. I'm 35 and still dressing via Target and Goodwill, but I have toddlers at home and my clothes get worn hard and washed with little care.
As soon as everyone is in school all day, my plan is to upgrade my knits, diversify out of jeans, wear more heels, and work more whites into my wardrobe. |

I think the workers at Montgomery Mall are helpful and I usually just say up front that I'm just browsing. The ones at Congressional Plaza really hound me. |

Age of kids is a huge factor. Until about Kindergarten, being around kids is just hazardous to your clothing! I am 41 and WOH in a business casual setting. My weekend wardrobe isn't much different from my weekdays. And 99% of my shopping is done online, so not a whole lot of originality in the brands. When shopping online it really helps to stick with brands that you know fit and flatter your shape. What works for me: Gap for jeans, some sweaters and tops. Their tees (Favorite line?) are just thick enough and fit me well. Old Navy for some pants and tops. Halogen (Nordstrom) for cashmere sweaters and pencil skirts. Rarely J Crew (sizing and quality are too unpredictable). Boden for dresses, white jeans, some tops and sweaters, the occasional skirt. Lands End for some pants, tops, dresses. Shoes from Nordstrom and Zappos. Dresses by Lauren Ralph Lauren from various department stores. |

| I recently discovered Peruvian Connection. They are expensive but great quality. They have a store in DC. I also end up purchasing a lot at Nordstroms. |

Work clothes AT, Banana Republic, some Loft. Casual Loft and Old Navy.
I always shop online and know their sizing well so I don't stray from those stores. |
