My son's preschool has recommended we do an assessment by Child Find, and get him in the system for possible accommodations prior to public school next year. Whatever issues he has are not susceptible to an easy or quick diagnosis, IMHO. We're looking into private assessments (maybe Stixrud?), but I was wondering -- if there any advantage to having the private assessment done before Child Find? Or should I just get him on the list for both now? Thanks.
I would do both. Child Find is a rigorous assessment and can take several months. Private can take a few weeks depending on a provider.
Yes, do both.
Yup do both
