OMG I can't believe how happy I am! And relaxed.
We never get to travel for Thanksgiving, but this is the first year in a decade we are able to go visit my sister (who does a GREAT feast!) and I don't have to cook the meal here! I am just very happy. That is all. |
| Woo hoo! Enjoy! |
+1! Absolutely, in fact, my family has taken it a step further. We take a minibreak vacation to the beach for a few days (hotel w/indoor pool) to have more activity and less emphasis on food/shopping/IL issues. I recommend it for everyone. |
| I host my Thanksgiving guests at a restaurant. Expensive, but totally worth it! |
| Awesome. Enjoy! |
| I am jealous. Another year of doing everything, absolutely everything, and being dead tired and stressed out. My in-laws sole contribution of cranberry sauce and artichoke dip is not insentive enough to continue this madness. I think I might pack up the kids and DH and go someplace. You have given me the power OP, thanks!! |
| lol this is my first year of actually cooking. I'm looking forward to making the foods I enjoy and not having to travel. |
| Where is the like button? Have a great time! |
That was me 10 years ago! I was so happy not to be making the long trek North with little kids. It was so relaxing to stay home and make a simple Tday meal. But then I started inviting local friends ... and it became a thing.... and I love it! I love Thanksgiving foods and its a favorite holiday. But it got a little tiring, too. So I am looking forward to being a guest for a change..... even though of course I will help a lot with my sister's meal. |
