| We use to say "cool," "Go for it" in my generation. What other lingo is popular now or do you still go with "good job"; "good effort"? My mom use to say .."Groovy!" |
| I confess, sometimes I say "awesome". |

I, too, have sinned, and even sign emails to kids at college with "stay awesome, bro" which I hope they find vaguely ironic and hipsterish. But, honestly, OP, anything you say is going to be 1) dated in their eyes, and 2) appreciated by them. FWIW, however, I also say "you go, girl", "way to go, buckaroo" and "rock on with your bad self, dude/tte". All of these bring a smile. |
Isn't that 23 Skiddoo?

I've caught myself doing a 'thumbs up' like Nixon quite frequently when they do something good.
God- what happened to me? Maybe this frickin' silent soccer has warped my brain. |
| I joke around plenty, but Actually, after DC tells me about something positive that happened in school that day, I have heard myself saying 2x already "thank you very much for bringing me GOOD NEWS!!!" followed by a big smile and sincere hug. |
OK, now I'm picturing Montgomery Burns using these boards.... |
| Mostly awesome...or sweeeeeet!! |
|
I like "Awesomesauce". I think it makes me sound up-to-date and hip!
Also, anything that makes my kids roll their eyes and want to die of embarrassment. Special! Super cool and Neat-o! |
|
I use "Excellent" and an effusive "that is OUTSTANDING."
Works. |
|
I say the same things to my pre-teens/teens that I say to everyone else:
that's great! cool! good for you! Usually I use "awesome" ironically; that is, when I mean exactly the opposite. Same with "fabulous." |
| Rock on! |
|
I'm diggin' that
