Barack Obama continues to ask me for money even after he's won. I got one e-mail from the transition team, which didn't quite explain why they needed the money, but boy they sure wanted it. Then yesterday I was informed that if I donate $35.00 TODAY, I can have a Barack Obama 2009 Calendar.
I really feel that after donating money, responding to surveys, and canvassing for our President-elect, my calendar should be complimentary. |
We were offered the opportunity to buy an Obama mug. |
I think it's a 4-year calendar. At least that means you get each year for under $10. ![]() |
Well, I just think that's bullshit.
Shortly before the election, they sent me an e-mail saying that if I donated 25 by midnight that night, I would be entered into a lottery to attend Obama's victory/speech/party. They said they would fly me and a guest to Chicago and put us in a hotel. They asked me to tell my story. Which I did. I put thought into it. They never even told me who won. I mean, they told me that if I donated 25 I could enter a lottery to have dinner with Barack. I didn't participate in that one, but I got a long list of the winners and their stories. Of course, that was earlier in the election season, and perhaps the campaign was being more solicitous then. I still think my calendar should be complimentary. |
I read that they want to keep the network to do other stuff. Like donate to that California fire's victims. They also need money for the inauguration don't they? |
Well that's all well and good, but I'm not particularly interested in that, especially when they give no indication as to what they intend to do with the money.
I'm going to log off now. Barack has hurt me deeply and I need to cry. |
Welcome to the future... the experience of being disappointed by Barack.
I am a raving dem and voted for him. But we all better get used to being disappointed. Jesus himself couldn't fix this mess for us. |
Isn't it illegal to solicit inauguration tickets like that? Although, Obama re-tracked on his campaign financing intent. Sounds like a scam. Was the email from the "official" Obama campaign or was it from a group associated with the Dems or like a grassroot organization? |
I thought the same thing. And even more...Obama isn't even president yet. |
I wonder the same, the only Obama related emails that I have recieved are from Move On and requests to contribute to help HRC retire her debt. Neither of which I plan to do. |
It was from the Obama campaign. It didn't say anything about the inauguration. |
