What do I want for my 29th birthday?

Anonymous
I turn 29 this week and my husband keeps asking me what I want for my birthday. I really have no clue, any ideas? I work PT, have one toddler, and generally buy what I want, within reason (because I earn the money for it). I do need new uggs and perfume but I feel like that's not special enough for a birthday gift. He owes me a girls' weekend away anyway, and I'd love a weekend away with him, but I know that if I use that as my birthday present I will never end up getting it because of scheduling issues, baby getting sick, etc. The only thing I can think of really is an iPad Air, but I have a perfectly good Kindle Fire from my birthday two years ago, so I don't know that I really need that. Is the iPad Air that much better? I don't need any new purses and I don't really want this to be spa related...

Any ideas?

Well, if you are like me, it won't be your first 29th birthday

Do you have any hobbies/activities that you really enjoy? If you are like me (we are almost the same age and we both have toddlers!) your hobbies are probably perpetually on hold, but hubby can buy you some supplies and promise you some time to do it!

How bout you take a Saturday to go to spa and out to dinner with friends while he stays home with the kid.

If you really can't think of anything, ask him to donate to a charity you support. It will make you and the charity happy

This sounds like a terrible problem.

I think new expensive uggs and perfume are perfectly great birthday gifts. Why aren't they special enough? What kinds of things do you usually get?

A nice dinner out. Don't have him buy something just because its the time of year to buy something. A date night, a weekend away, some kind of "experience" gift. Most people don't NEED more electronics or jewelry....

My husband is very handy. He can build and make anything. I usually ask him if her will do something in the house for me, like remodel a bathroom or put up crown molding. Nothing makes me happier.
