| Can anyone with kids at OLV comment on the instructional style(s)? Is it mostly teacher-centered as in sit/absorb/repeat with heavy use of textbooks/technology and worksheets or do teachers include some student-centered activities with encouragement of higher order thinking - creativity, critical thinking and inquiry? I know it is a traditional school with reportedly excellent academics but I am just wondering that that really means...I am trying to figure out if the school would be a good fit for an active, inquisitive child. My first impression is no, but I thought I would check here... |
| I don't have a child there, but a good friend does and is doing great. She loves all that the school has to offer. For my active child, when I toured, I didn't think it would be a fit. Seemed too structured, and orderly, not that there's anything wrong with that. It reminded me of an English Girls Convent school. I'll have my friend chime in later... |
