| Hi all. I live in DC and would love to find someone who could come to my house to cut my hair. As a kid we had a cousin who was a professional hair stylist who did this, and it was great. But I don't know if anyone does that anymore. Does anyone here know of someone like that? Thanks in advance! |
| I do but it's 300$ a haircut, are you looking to spend that kind of money? |
| OP here, thanks, but no you're right, I'm not looking for that range at all! |
| Yeah it's one of those uber rich, celebrity things. |
| that's interesting. a quick perusal of craigslist shows tons of people willing to do others' hair at home -- but it's all braiding, extensions, etc. for presumably mainly African American people. some of that takes hours to do, and the rates are not in the hundreds. different cultures/expectations I guess. i'm not AA, but I wonder if any of those advertising can also do/would be interested in doing a simple cup on short straight hair. for anyone familiar with those services, do you think the offerors would be offended if I asked? |
| There used to be a very good very reasonable person named Courtney Saunders who came to our home, but I have not been able to get in touch with her for about a year. |
You pay $300 for a haircut in someone's basement? |
Where does the PP say it's in a basement? |
| Hi- you might be able to establish a relationship with your current stylist & have them do this. I've lived in 3 major cities & in each one I've been able to convince my hairstylist to come to my home- its a win win bc I have the convenience of being home & stylist gets full payment w/o dealing with salon. And I'm definitely not rich! Good luck |
A lady in Kensington does that for a very decent price. Are you interested in her contact info? |
