| I think today is the day the lottery? opens. Has anyone gotten in and how was the race? |
| Expensive but well run. I would recommend it. |
| Thanks. Hope I get in. |
It's kind of pricy--$175. If you have run it, what makes this 1/2 marathon "worth it"? Thanks
|
| If you don't get in, consider the Marine Corps half in May. It's well run and certainly a lot cheaper. (you don't get a Tiffany bauble, but you could probably buy a little something there with the difference, lol.) |
| Friends who ran said they wouldn't run it again, and they have run large races. Lines were long, the course was OK, just not worth the $. |

Ran it last year (the lottery seemed like a farce last year, as everyone I know who entered the lottery got it; and they didn't notify anyone of entry, just charged credit cards).
It was okay but I was less than thrilled. That said, I'd consider doing it again if a friend wanted to do it. Good: The expo (very unique and I liked my free makeover from Bare Escentuals) The shirt (nice tech fabric and color) Just for women aspect Bad: Corrals were a mess (couldn't get in) and way too full Course was more crowded than any local race I've done The necklace didn't seem like a Tiffany necklace to me. Kind of chintzy. Expo was in Georgetown and was very difficult to get to Nonsense with the special gear that went on sale only at the Nike store the evening of the first of the expo. I went to the expo when it opened, then over to the Nike store to get the special edition Tiffany blue shoes, only to find out they weren't on sale until that night. |
| It was fun, but extremely crowded and the course had a couple bad bottlenecks. Definitely not a PR. That said, it was pretty awesome to run with thousands of women. And I liked the Tiffany's bauble, even though it was a bit chintzy. |
