Who makes the best potholders?

Anonymous
Am putting together my holiday list and want to get someone really high quality pot holders. I have one from Williams Sonoma, but am not impressed (doesn't protect against really high heat). I was thinking non-silicone, but do I have to do silcone to deal with the high temps?

I also want to know. All the ones I have fail at high heat and I end up burning my hands.

My mom knit me some that are great. And easily washable.

Has she considered selling her potholders on eBay or etsy?

When I got my Electrolux appliances they came with amazing potholders.

I've moved from cloth to some kind of magic synthetic claw thing that I love. Totally protects hands, and you can just clean in the sink instead of the laundry. They come in fun colors, too. I'll find a link to amazon on post. I love them!

hate those things! If they get oil on them, they get really slippery.

I LOVE our Oxo Good Grips oven mitts (bought them on Amazon). They have silicone over cotton. I still prefer the cotton squares for grabbing a pot lid, but these oven mitts are what I want when taking something out of the oven. Haven't had a problem with them getting slippery.

I got some at Target, quilted with silicone on the palm section. I don't know the manufacturer, but I've been happy with them.

Many professional chefs use silicon welder's gloves.
