Okay, so I realize this isn't the most pressing of issues, but could nevertheless use some recommendations.
I'm going to have a holiday dinner party and really want to serve lobster bisque, but don't think I can deal with making it on my own. Does anybody have any suggestions for gourmet stores, restaurants, or even online stores that make a terrific lobster bisque that I can just reheat? I saw it on Balducci's holiday menu - has anybody ever had that? |
Go to balducci's and try the soups in the taster cups. It's pretty good. Another good grocery store soup is the crab from safeway. I've served it and gotten raves . Never told them the origin. You can also get some lobster chop it up and saute it and add it to a canned bisque . |
| I think Costco carries a lobster bisque--Phillips brand, maybe? |
| Whole Foods - they have a section of 4+ seafood soups. |

If you don't mind spending an arm and a leg, this stuff is awesome (and so are the lobster pot pies)!!!

| I don't know if they still have it or if they sell it in the quantity you need, but Carlyle in Shirlington used to have good lobster bisque when we lived near there. |
| Maybe Blacksalt. |
| I have some vague memory of picking some up at Safeway, and it was really good!! I think it was by the deli on a display with the other fresh soups. |

| Trader Joes sells it in small containers. It's good, but you may need to buy a lot of those little tubs. I think I saw it at Costco like the PP mentioned. |
| OP here - thanks to all who responded. I greatly appreciate all the leads! |
