| It's the only new charter this year (isn't it?), how is it going Sela parents? How is the instruction? How are your kids adjusting to learning Hebrew? How is aftercare? |
| Really, no Sela parents reading or willing to post an update? Has there ever been this much silence 2 months in with any other new schools? |
|
I don't know anything about this school but I imagine that many religious Jewish families would be most interested in a Hebrew immersion school.
If that is the case, you should not expect electronic responses on Friday night/throughout the day on Saturday. |
| to the first two posters: perhaps the Sela folks have learned from what other charters have had to go through and are just refusing to take the troll bait. |
I'm the OP, and the very fact that you perceive the question "How is it going?" As troll bait is very interesting. So it wag troll bait in all the similar threads I read in CMs 1st year? In MVs? In YYs 1st year? Some of us have an actual interest in the progress of new schools and how things are developing. How is me asking this question any different from the Cap City thread that's up asking if people are still happy? Seems much more trollish to assume a plain "How is it going?" Is asked with ill intent. What if it's going well? |
| Anyone who has spent any time on DCUM will view this question as troll bait. |
| I've spent a lot of time on DCUM. I know there's been plenty of hoopla around Sela, especially immediately before the virtual radio silence that exists now. But IT'S A BRAND NEW SCHOOL. How is asking how it's going = automatic troll bait? If it's going well, that's awesome, why would that be bad to say? |
|
Asking how it's going is not troll bait at all.
More likely that all the people debating the merits of Sela did not end up sending their kids there. It's also probably too early to say, especially in light of their early administration changes. Hopefully, it's going well for a brand new school! |
| I was a parent interested in the school however, I decided on Spanish immersion. I still follow the school's website on FB and it seems to be going well from the "looks" of it. |
| I'm not looking into Sela but I think this is a very reasonable q. Yes I've been here a long time. |
| I'm interested in some feedback on Sela too. Strange that there is no word now when so much discussion last year. |
| Would love to hear how it's going but maybe everyone who was so enthusiastic about Sela got into another school that was higher on their list. |
| A few people started out at Sela then switched to other schools once they were accepted via the lottery (Stokes, Ying, Creative etc.) |
| Are you at Sela then? |
| Sela is going very well, but most parents stay far away from DCUM because of long track record of bullying (and more than a few anti-Semitic posts). Instead, people concentrate on building a quality school. Take a school tour, if you need more intel: www.selapcs.org. |
