How often do you all visit nearby parents that live 3-5 hours away?
How often do they come visit you and your family? |
We probably go there 3-4 times and year, and they visit us about the same number of times. So we see each other on average at least every other month. It's nice. |
Both of our parents are 3-4 hours away. They would love to come at least once a month but then we have visitors every other weekend. We did it when the kids were little but now that they can maintain relationships over phone/facetime and have busier weekends, we try to space out the visits more. |
Never. |
This is us too. I have a big family and all my siblings are in the Northeast, so we go up there for 1-2 longer trips and a few long weekends every year. One of my siblings comes to visit here 2-3 times a year, and the others might come visit every other year or so (but they are more like 8 hours away). Grandparents come 3-4 times fora couple days each time. My husbands family is closer (about an hour) and we probably see them on average once a month. |
ILs were 4 hours away. When they were alive, they maybe visited once a year. My DC's were their 10th and 11th grand children and they were burnt out. WE tried to visit 3 times a year.
Mine at 7 hours away and they maybe visit once a year and we visit them 3 times per year. It is a sore spot for me. My DC;s were the irst and 2nd grandchildren for them, but they were nearing 70 at the time. Now in their 80's, they only come if we are hosting Thanksgiving or Christmas. |
