Had my gallbladder taken out laparoscopically yesterday. Feel like I was hit by a large truck. Have Percocet, taking it as instructed.
How long am I going to feel like hell? Advice for getting through the initial suckage? Thanks |
| I was pretty fine after 3 days and really fine after a week. The recovery should speed up. |
| I had mine out late on a Friday. Spent Fri night in the hospital. Cleared to drive in Tuesday, back to work on Wed. |

It won't lat too long, but you will be tired for a while. I think it's more the anesthesia and the painkillers that make you feel like you've been kit by a truck.
Take it really easy and get lots of rest, even for the next 30 days or so. You shouldn't have much pain from the incisions but you will be tired. |

Take it easy for about a week or so. You'll want to sleep a lot... at least I did. And of course you'll remember not to lift anything heavy.
It'll be good not to feel that particular kind of pain ever again. |
Funny, I had mine taken out yesterday as well...wonder if I posted this in my pain-killer fog . I actually don't feel too bad, but I've also been in bed all day, with the exception of a shower. Planning on trying to get up an around a bit more tomorrow, but still taking it easy!

| The recovery's a bitch (twice as bad as a c-section) but you'll never have a gall bladder attack again so it's worth it. First 3 days are the worst. By 1 week you'll feel much better. |
| OP here, thanks everyone. Feeling better-ish, but still worn down. Great advice. |
