Dog is on 3 medications, can pay for them but can't afford specialist follow-ups

My 7 yo retriever mix has a heart condition. We took her to the dog cardiologist last year and she got prescribed 3 daily medications. The meds are relatively inexpensive, probably $30 a month. But the appointments at the cardiologist run about $900. We have dog insurance that will reimburse part of the money but we just don't have the $900 up front to drop on the appointment this month or next.
The cardiologist won't spread out the payment, or give us a one or two month refil prescription to get us to when we can get the appointment.

Is there any doggie med assistance out there? Or cheaper vet options? Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

Are you local? I think WARL has services for people with financial difficulties who are caring for animals.

Care Credit will allow you to pay for the visit and repay them over six months, I think.

Thanks! Will look into both

Can your regular vet write a new prescription?

$900 for an appointment to refill meds? That's ridiculous... even more so if you have to see the cardiologist every month for new prescriptions. Is there a reason your regular vet can't refill the prescriptions? I love my pets, but I would refuse to pay this much money.
