Although both schools are in Philadelphia, and are of similar size, they don't otherwise seem to have much in common. Temple is a public university and I suspect the vast majority of its students are from Philadelphia and/or Penn. I would be surprised if there was a strong out-of-state contingent, it just does not seem to be that strong of a public school to draw students to pay out-of-state tuition. Drexel is private with a co-op program like Northeastern's where students work part of the time they are in school (don't know if all students work but know that the co-op program is part of what Drexel is known for), and I had always thought of Drexel as an engineering school but it is a big school so can't just be engineering (I think it also has a big on-line presence and it may count on-line students among its student body). Philadelphia is a great city and although some might say Temple is not in a great area, I was there a couple of years ago and it seemed fine though not a particularly exciting part of the city (easily accessible though)
