We were referred to her. Any feedback? I looked her up and her bio references Imago therapy. What is this?

Imago therapy is based on the work of Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. If you're interested, read his book called "Getting the Love You Want."

I'm grossly oversimplifying, but the basic idea is that we learn our model for intimate relationships by interacting with our parents as children (attachment theory). The idea is that we carry some of these patterns into our intimate relationships with spouses later in life. The key (I think) is to understand why we do some of the things we do in intimate relationships - with an eye toward consciously managing these behaviors.

But read the book. He offers a better explanation than I do. I think it made the Oprah Book Club.
