Is this the future of the GOP?

Interesting. As I watched the beginning, my first reaction was "how can this guy still be a Republican?" Well I guess he answered that.

My question is, why do judges have a party affiliation in the first place?

In some states they are elected. Parties help people get elected.

The GOP has no future--unless the old racists die off soon and allow the party to reinvent itself.

But what of Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and others? They are not old. They are quite young and just a handful of names from a much larger cohort of young Tea Party types who may or may not be racist.

The Tea Party appeals to the over-55 white male voter who listens to Rush Limbaugh. That's a pretty narrow demographic to rely on. Worse, that population shrinks every year. There's not much Tea Party activity happening at college campi.
