In the 80s and 90s, it's rep was for well off girls who weren't totally dumb but not necessarily the sharpest tools in the shed. Future sorority girls and junior leaguers.
Not a bad place for an average intelligence girl who might benefit from a single sex environment. |

Its rep, not it's (autocorrect)
Also I should add I have no idea what its rep is now |

They have a wonderful new head, Dr. Parnell Hagerman. We're going to visit next week so I'll re-post after our visit.

Ditto to this. My friend went there and ended up graduating from college with her Mrs. degree. She does belong to the junior league too! She hasn't ever really worked and is a SAHM with school aged kids. Her DH is loaded and she spends her time exercising and helping out with charities. The school has a great equestrian program from what I've heard. |

I once overheard a convo (I was waiting for an appt) between my big three private school head of school and someone at oldsfields. The head was trying to get the girl into olds. I can't remember if it was a student they were counseling out or a sibling of a student or what. But the head was basically indicating that the girl would be better off in a boarding school for family reasons, and that olds would be a good fit because she wasnt super smart and had low self esteem about academics and would be better off in a place that wasnt as academically demanding. This was the mid 90s.
