pre-registering at GW is not working - losing it

Anonymous
I don't have another two hours to sit here and fight with the online registration system and the phone system is a hellhole to nowhere. Over the past two or three weeks (due end of this month) I have tried to preregister but each time something is wrong with the system. Either I can't get into it at all, or if I can get into it, I get the whole thing filled out and it tells me I'm missing information (that I'm not missing) and won't let me proceed (and then it loses all info I've entered on that page, which is my insurance info page).

I remember preregistering at sibley and having to answer every single question again when I checked in anyway so is it even worth it to pre-register?

And if you did pre-register, did you use this reggie / online system or call or what? This is really pissing me off.

I never pre-registered and it added maybe 3 minutes to my check-in time -- I think the whole thing is overrated.

Me too, twice.

Thanks! Think I'm skipping it. I just need to try and remember my last menstrual period.

I wouldn't worry about that either. I left it blank on the sheet. I promise, they barely look at it and they aren't going to tell you that you can't be there b/c you can't remember that date!

if you really want, you could always walk over to L&D at your next prenatal and register in person.

That thing drove me crazy myself... then after a scare of premature labor, I had to register in person (the whole thing took longer than the medical issues being checked out) and I still had to (re-)"register" when I came in for the real deal.

Before I delivered in spring 2012 I took a hospital tour and they said they were doing something with the system and we could fill out the paper forms. I filled it out and walked it back over after an appt, and they said I could now do it online. I did that too, just to be safe. Wouldn't you know, neither worked and I still had to register when I came in in labor. Oh well, the whole process only took a couple mins.

Both times, I just completed the paper copy and returned it to L&D. Super easy. And it did make my check-in process much faster because they were able to just pull me up in the system.

I did pre-register online and then when I checked in at GW they said they didn't receive it. Apparently the online system is pretty spotty, so even if it works for you it's no guarantee it's in the system. I had to redo all the paperwork when I got there.

Other options are to print out the paperwork and drop it off in advance.

Also, you could just print out the paperwork and bring it with you when you deliver. I'd recommend this no matter what -- just in case they lose whatever you turned in prior. The paperwork doesn't take a lot of time, but I didn't appreciate having to keep signing my name and check boxes during labor.
