We recently moved and had a baby. I was quite surprised by our quarterly bill from Fairfax Water. We had Fairfax Water in our TH (and I need to find those bills to compare), but I feel they were nowhere near the cost I am seeing now - $175.
How much was your bill for July/Aug/Sept? I don't think we watered the lawn much, if at all. I am worried there may be a leak in the underground pipes. Hopefully I am just being a silly pessimist. (I think i read somewhere, maybe dcum, that if you see a spike in the water bill that could be the culprit. We don't have the prior quarter from which to compare.) |
| Our bill is from the town of Vienna. It's about $200 every quarter for a single family house (two young kids). |
| $130 for a SFH in Burke, three young kids. |

Are you using more hot water for laundry b/c of baby clothes?

SFH
2 adults, 2 kids Quarterly: $30 |
| 165, with irrigation |
| Any running toilets? I wouldn't jump to any dire pipe leak conclusions before you rule out the basics. |

Paid $170 last quarter for family of 3.
Live in Falls Church, not the city, but in the Fairfax County side. But we get water from City of Falls Church. WaPo previously reported that Falls Church City overcharges for water. I cannot wait until they change us over to the county. |
| $200. We don't water much but do quite a bit of laundry. |
| $140 quarterly for family of 3 in Springfield TH. We have older appliances that are not HE, so that may be a factor. |
| $112, family of 4, SFH in Annandale. Hardly ever water but run lots of laundry. |
| We are a family of four and have Fairfax Water in our TH. It's usually $126-128 each quarter. |
| Thanks, everyone. I am going to try and locate the old bills from our TH (and pre-baby) for comparison as well. We have been doing more laundry and, likely, more runs of the dishwasher here in our new house. It just seems like a hefty increase!! |

| Our was $278 last quarter. We have a in-ground sprinkler system. This was our first quarter living in the house. Sounds like this is high? |
