I just got my Time magazine and Michelle Rhee is on the cover. The story is about fixing America's schools and cites some of the battles and ideas that she has. |
The video is better, seems more informative about student perspectives. http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1485842900/bctid3349235001
Thoughts? As a parent re-evaluating school choices, it would be helpful to hear directly from students, parents and teachers on what they've seen recently that's making a difference. Beyond the increasingly hostile hype, what are the day-to-day things that are making a difference? Seen mixed things from Rhee staff ability to follow through on her forwarded messages. Replying to an email is not the same as responding to a problem. I know it's still early, but which reform efforts might be sustainable should Rhee be ousted for some reason. Simply pressing "send" on one snarky or dismissive email could take her down. (And boy wouldn't that make Marion Barry's day. ugh) What's going on beyond the headlines? TIA |
