| Another thread surprised me ... I've never bought DH's clothes (apart from the odd gift) and would feel like my mother if I did so! Do you buy your DH's clothes? |
| Yes. I worked retail for years and style my friends and relatives for fun. DH can shop for himself but I just happen to have a better sense of style. If in some alternate universe my DH was fashionable I wouldn't mind him shopping for himself at all. I would prefer it however it's just the way it worked out. |
| No, but I usually help him pick things out. |
| Yes, I am a much savvier shopper than he is. I know certain brands that he likes - Lacoste for example - so if I see a polo on sale, I buy it. If it were up to him, he'd go once at the beginning of each season and buy everything at once. You can save so much by buying during sales throughout the year, especially for styles that don't change. The only thing I don't buy is suits. Those he needs to try on and is more picky about. |
| Yes, I buy almost all of them. DH cares and is super picky about clothes but would basically let everything get threadbare if it were up to him to buy them. |
| Casual stuff, yes, suits and other work stuff he gets himself. |
| No. If I'm at BR or J Crew and I see something he might like I might pick it up but we pick out our own clothes. |
|
No, his mother does.
Well, sort of. She tends to get him basics like work dress pants or shirts for holiday gifts. I will on occasion buy a sweater or something like that as a holiday gift for him; potentially shoes or a winter coat, but if I did that, he'd go to the store & pick something out himself. |
| If I"m out and see something he needs, I'll pick it up. For anything but casual clothes I usually go with him because he likes my input on dress shirts etc. |
| No, he has better taste than I do. |
| I buy 95% of his clothes and 50% of his shoes. He doesn't have time and he likes everything I buy. It helps that he's a perfect men's size. Clothes look good on him. He dresses much nicer than I do. My own fault of course. |
Yes almost all of them. I'm a much better bargain shopper, lol.
|
OP here. I'm similar - although not so much about taste, just sense of fashion. He's younger than me and more sporty/preppy than I am, so I wouldn't get it right. But still, even if he didn't have time to shop and liked me to buy his clothes, I'd still feel like his mom!! |
| No. But he buys about 80% of my clothes. |
| sometimes. if i didn't he'd only wear cargo shorts and t-shirts. he does well for work though. |
