I was surprised to see Alec ventured into town yesterday. The scandal is all anyone is talking about. Even the sweet librarians at Amagansett Free Library were chatting about it when we stopped in. I can’t help but feel bad for him. He has a bad rep but he has always been a kind and charming member of this community. I wish his wife would just apologize, donate to a good cause, and then go on to live a low-profile life with her cute babies.

So when she takes pics for IG, does she make the nannies get out of the shot? I've had a nanny before, but we didn't treat her like this--makes me cringe to see how people treat "the help."

However, there are some suspect items about Beth and if you spend time on the Howard Stern forums (not the official ones, but the ones run by fans) and Reddit, you'd find it. It's been a long time since I read up on the Beth rabbit hole so I don't remember much, but it was something about her family being grifters and phonies. Could be all BS, who knows. I’ve only ever seen her taking selfies with one or more kids or having a nanny take pics at the beach or the school playground. Not their school in BK, the elementary school in AMG. So I don’t know if she tells the nannies to scoot out of the shot. They are not Spaniards. At least, not the ones I met. They were from El Salvador. If the Baldwins try to deny how many nannies they have, it will cement the fact that H is a pathological liar. Literally the entire town sees them all the time. It’s a very small town, not like it’s portrayed in the media. This is not East Hampton.

I remember Alec posted a picture of his nannies once on Instagram. It was a very sweet post praising them and thanking them. He was crucified in the comments for having so much help and being tone deaf, so he removed the pic.

I think he loves her but this seems to highlight how they are both fragile actors and both have deeper narcissistic vulnerabilities. And they have not been married very long. I am sure behind the scenes obviously is vastly different than their public personas...there is the real relationship and issues and there is the baldwin family persona they co created. Both want to believe it. He has money and power and he is also aging, and probably feels the heavy responsibility of this large family, among the other challenges of aging. She has probably had long term identity struggles and emotional difficulties based on her eating disorder history and she has become intoxicated by social media and looks there for her validation. She came to believe her created story. They are both psychologically vulnerable obviously. And they have a gaggle of other lives to worry about no matter how many nannies they can hire. They are carrying a lot and the bubble has popped. Maybe they can grow from it and develop some greater empathy and humility. Time will tell.
