We received a $$$ gift card to Landry's chain for our anniversary and can't decide which restaurant in the area is the nicest.
Basically there's Oceanaire, McCormick & Schmicks, Chart House or Morton's Steakhouse in this area. Does anyone have any suggestions on which restaurant would be the best for an anniversary dinner? I don't eat steak, so am not a fan of Mortons. We're leaning towards Chart House in Old Town Alexandria, but would love input. |

Mortons has a ton on the menu other than steak...
Also it just expanded the menu options even more since Landry's bought it out. |
| Any experiences with Chart House or Oceanaire? |
| Chart House is awful. like an upscale Red Lobster. Oceanaire is very good, but very limited non-seafood options -- it's the reverse of Morton's. I often get seafood at Morton's. The one in Georgetown has great atmosphere and the serice is always great. |
| Chart House has the feel of a chain and only decent food. I'd chose Oceanaire, then Morton's, then McC & S, then Chart House. |
| Thanks everyone! Will look up Morton's menu. We're big seafood fans so that's why we were thinking the other options. We have only been to M&S and didn't have experience with the others. |
I like Oceanaire

| +1 for Morton's as the best, even for seafood. My vegetarian friend loves Morton's. Georgetown absolutely the best of all of them. |

Morton's or M&S. I'd do Morton's because the overall quality of everything is just better than M&S and as PPs said you don't have to do steak. Chart House in Alexandria is blah, and I haven't been to Oceanaire.
Do not do M&S at the Tyson's or National Harbor locations. I've never had a great experience at either, though the Tyson's location is slightly better. |
| Oceannaire, but I personally dislike steakhouses. |
