Public Transportation from Silver Spring to Bethesda

Dear all,

Is there a decent public transportation route to get from Silver Spring to Bethesda that does not involve taking the Red Line all the way into DC? Bus?

Check out the J1, J2 and J3 bus line on metro, which runs along East-West Highway and Jones Bridge Road. Slow and never shows on time, but it basically travels the route you're describing (note that the J1 only runs weekdays during rush hour but I think the others are more frequent). Also you can plug your addresses on the metro website which will suggest the best option.

Where in Bethesda? Ride On buses 1 & 11 go to Friendship Heights.
